Dr. Shaan Patel, MD was born and raised in Alabama. He completed orthopaedic fellowships in both hand/wrist surgery and shoulder/elbow surgery. He learned the values of work ethic, dependability, and diligence to his craft and instills these values in his practice. Dr. Patel has clinics in Lebanon, TN and Mount Juliet, TN and performs all surgeries in Lebanon, TN. He is committed to providing expert, patient-centered orthopaedic care and offers the latest treatments, non-surgical and surgical, to help patients heal and regain function.

This is an intricate surgery to relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome caused by excessive pressure on the median nerve at the wrist. Dr. Patel performs this procedure using a small incision. If patients desire, the surgery can be performed with wide awake local anesthesia. This allows patients to return to activities sooner, avoid the risks of general anesthesia, potentially lower the cost, and provide the ability to drive to and from surgery if patients are comfortable.
